§ 18-136. Definitions.

The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this division, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

Attendance supervisor means the person or office designated to track the attendance of students.

Law enforcement personnel means any police officer, deputy sheriff, or juvenile officer.

Legal representative means parent or legal guardian.

Truancy means unauthorized absence from school.

Truant means a person under the age of 18 years who, without prior authorization, is not in school during school hours.
