§ 26-53. Assessment of costs of repair.

The assessment of the costs of eliminating the defect or hazard or making the repair to the sidewalk shall be declared by ordinance, and it shall be entered into the docket of city liens and shall thereupon become a lien against the property. The collection and enforcement of the lien shall be accomplished in the same manner as in the case of the collection and enforcement of the street liens, but irregularities or informalities in the procedure shall be disregarded.
