§ 2-373. Delegation powers.

  • (a)

    The City Manager is hereby authorized to delegate to any employee of the city who is under the direct supervision and control of the City Manager any and all administrative duties imposed upon the City Manager by ordinances, resolutions, or policies of the city.

    (b)

    This section shall be liberally construed to the end that the City Manager shall not be required to personally perform the administrative duties and functions for which he is held responsible under the terms of the ordinances, resolutions, and policies of the city.

    (c)

    Any acts done by any employee who is under the direct supervision and control of the City Manager and done pursuant to a delegation of authority given by the City Manager to said employee shall be deemed to be done by the City Manager as required by the ordinances, resolutions, and policies thereof.

    (d)

    This section shall not be construed to make the City Manager liable for any damage or injury caused by a negligent or willful act or omission of any such employee.
