§ 32-162. Illegally parked vehicle—Citation.

  • (a)

    Whenever a vehicle without an operator is found parked in violation of a restriction imposed by this section, the officer finding the vehicle shall take its license number and any other information displayed on the vehicle which may identify its owner, and shall conspicuously affix to the vehicle a traffic citation for the operator to answer to the charge against the operator or pay the penalty imposed within five days during the hours and at a place specified in the citation.

    (b)

    Violations of sections 32-152 through 32-161 shall be punishable by a fine in an amount set by resolution of the City Council. Such fine shall be recoverable from the owner or person in possession of the vehicle, or from said vehicle in the nature of an in rem proceeding. The Municipal Court of the city shall have authority to levy such penalty against such vehicle in an in rem proceeding.
