§ 6-85. Purpose.

The purpose of this article is to protect the public health, safety and welfare, to prevent deterioration of existing structures and to contribute to vital neighborhoods by:
(1)

Regulating and abating dangerous and derelict buildings.

(2)

Establishing and enforcing standards for buildings and other structures regarding basic equipment, facilities, sanitation, safety, and maintenance.
