§ 6-130. Smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms.

  • (a)

    Properly functioning smoke alarms or detectors shall be located in all buildings where a room or area therein is designated for sleeping purposes, either as a primary use or use on a casual basis. All alarms and detectors shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and shall be operable.

    (b)

    A properly functioning carbon monoxide alarm shall be installed for all dwelling units for lease or rent. A carbon monoxide alarm shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and shall be operable.
