§ 8-260. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Junk. (See Junk dealer ).

    Junk dealer means any person who, within the city, shall, as a business, engage in the purchase, sale, trade, barter or exchange of old metals, ropes, rags, glass or paper, or other discarded materials or junk or shall keep any store, shop, room, lot or place where such materials are bought, sold, traded, bartered or exchanged is defined to be a junk dealer, within the meaning of this chapter.

    Secondhand dealer means any person who, within the city, shall, as a business, engage in the purchase, sale, trade, barter or exchange of secondhand goods, other than "junk" as defined in this section or any person who shall keep any store, shop, room or place where secondhand goods of any kind or description, other than "junk" as defined in this chapter, are bought, sold, traded, bartered or exchanged is defined to be a secondhand dealer, within the meaning of this chapter.
