§ 8-325. Insurance required.

  • (a)

    No person shall drive or operate any taxicab unless there first is filed with the City Recorder a certificate of insurance to a policy issued by an insurance company licensed to conduct business in this state attesting that such insurance company will assume responsibility for injuries to persons and property caused by the operation of the taxicab in the following amounts:

    (1)

    For death or injury to any one person in any one accident, not less than $100,000.00;

    (2)

    For death or injury to two or more persons in any one accident, not less than $300,000.00;

    (3)

    For damage to or destruction of property of others resulting from any one accident, not less than $50,000.00.

    (b)

    Such policy of insurance shall contain a provision against cancellation except upon 30 days' prior written notice to the City Council.
